Important dates to remember

Game 88-90: This is the cutoff period for an injured player that is expected to miss 15 games. This represents a loss of 20% of a player’s future playing time. If you are trailing and in contention for the playoffs, it might be wise to make a move if one of your players are hit with a 15-game injury. The drawback to this is that you will enter into the playoffs with a lower priced lineup.

Game 127-129: This represents the period where all of your remaining games will be within your division. A good strategy may be to drop a player in order to grab another player that will exploit the weakness of your divisional opponents.

Let’s say your team really suffered vs. left-handed pitching OR your staff faced several lefty batters in the first week of the season. Now you’ll be facing the same divisional opponents. Trade for a player that thrives on lefties. Or, trade for a lefty in your rotation. If you can’t deal anyone, drop a player for another before the game 142 deadline.
